SoulSing now gathers EVERY Sunday of the month, except if there is a 5th Sunday in that month. On the 5th Sunday of the month at 6PM we will have a service of prayer, meditation, and healing.
SoulSing is the perfect opportunity for you to invite someone to church so bring a friend. SoulSing starts at 6:00PM!
Annual Thanksgiving Feast:
Bethany's Annual Thanksgiving Feast is just around the corner. This year’s feast is on November 15 at 5PM in the Gym. .Sign-up sheets are in Friendship Square on Sunday mornings. This year, please select two(2) of the following to bring: salad or vegetable or dessert. The Board of Elders will be supplying the turkey and ham for this year’s dinner. However, if anyone would like to donate a turkey or ham, please leave a note with the sign-up sheet. Also, please remember to bring your own table settings (plates, napkins & utensils).
Faith in Action:
Opportunity to Serve On November 7th you have an opportunity to make a difference in our community. Lutheran Social Services of Southern California and Faith in Action/Volunteer Action for Ageing are sponsoring a work day to help seniors living in Long Beach with some light home repair and yard work. This is an excellent opportunity to live out the Bethany Blueprint. We will meet at First Lutheran Church, Long Beach at 9:45AM and will be done by approximately 1:00PM. Youth Volunteers for the Acolyte/Crucifer Ministry:
The Acolyte/Crucifer Ministry of Bethany Lutheran Church is designated to give young people the opportunity to paricipate int he worship life of our congregation in a special way. Training & recognition will be provided for those young people who choose to serve the Lord through this ministry. if you are currently serving as an acolyte/crucifer, you will be receiving a phone call from Mr. Ted Martin to confirm your continuance in this ministry.
NOTE: Teams for our 9:30AM service will not be scheduled for a month at a time to allow attendance at Sunday School, Confirmation Class, and Bible class. Please consider this opportunity of service.
ELIGIBILITY: Young people, both boys and girls in the 5th-12th grades, who are members of Bethany Lutheran Church or non-members that participate in one of Bethany's education programs (e.g. Sunday School, Christian Day School, or Confirmation classes).
